Inspired by the apartment's origins and historical location in the Rotterdam old harbour area, the design concept combined neo-classical elements with contemporary Scandinavian minimalism.
The combination of stone and wood brought timeless elements to the design, while minimalistic Scandinavian furniture introduced contemporary freshness and style.
Drawing inspiration from the Parisian neo-classical style, elements of wall and ceiling moulding as well as Hungarian point parquet flooring were incorporated into the space. The selection of natural colours and characteristics, such as natural stone and walnut wood-look materials added timeless details and minimalism to the design concept. Vintage furniture and lighting were incorporated to add a timeless yet lived-in atmosphere.
